Modernizing Medicare education tools empowers seniors

Coalition advocates urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to continue its efforts to improve and enhance the information and decision-making tools available to Medicare beneficiaries, in order to better enable seniors to make informed decisions and become active choosers in their health coverage.

Consumer Action joined Better Medicare Alliance, a coalition of over 100 organizations, in urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to enhance beneficiary education and outreach on Medicare options. This includes continuing with its efforts to produce consumer-friendly enrollment materials on the choice and benefits of the Medicare Advantage program and making it easier for seniors to compare Medicare Advantage to FFS options based on health needs, quality, cost and provider networks.
